Creating an outlook account?

Hey, I heard that using an outlook account on the phone will ensure things work properly and faster...

I have a Hotmail account that I use on my desktop and xbox. When I go to outlook.com I'm automatically signed into my Hotmail account. I went into account details in outlook and there is an update email setting but it only lists Hotmail.com and live.com as available options.

What do you guys suggest I do?
