Cusor frozen after sleep in W10

[Windows Central Question]

Several pages were open when I put the laptop into sleep mode. Now on opening, NOTHING works. Pages are all there. Cursor is frozen in the middle of last page I was on. No keyboard shortcuts work. I have had to crash out of this situation before, by holding down the power key. Not good for the computer, I am sure! Is there a better solution?

I now have crashed out of the system and re-started. All the pages appeared again and cursor is working. This is an intermittent fault in W10. What can I do rather than crash out? Remember, I can't use the keyboard at all, so there is probably no alternative solution...
