Customers are left with no economically reasonable alternative": Google asks the UK's CMA to regulate Microsoft's Azure cloud business

that's rich (an hilarious) coming from Google xDD they should get all those anticompetitive whining and shove it up theirs... maybe that way they would realize they are even worse offenders xD

“The UK's communications regulator Ofcom found that Amazon and Microsoft owned a combined 70-80% of the UK cloud computing market”

So? If 2 companies have 75% of a market, that means one has 40% and the other has 35%? Or 50/25? Which means Google has 25%.

That is the very definition of healthy competition folks. Whereas Google has 90% of the search market.

Not to mention that - in the U.S. at least - anti-monopoly laws are in place to protect consumers. Not competitors. Which is why you don’t see Amazon (or MS, whichever) whining that “Google and MS” have 75% of the market.

That‘s not how this stuff works. You don’t lump all of your competitors together and say “they have too much of the market”.

In the U.S. this would be laughed at. No telling what will happen in Europe.

Microsoft has been planning on building a $3B datacenter just for AI in the UK.
Neither Google nor Amazon are investing that much in the UK.
I'm pretty sure Ireland would welcome that facility.
