Windows 10 has always worked fine on my SP3, but I've had two annoying issues, one more annoying than the other.

1. Screen lock only works in Portrait mode.
2. The on-screen keyboard defaults to writing mode rather than showing a keyboard. This means I have to switch it back to type anything. This was the really annoying one.

Every update I hope they are fixed, but recently I've sussed out that they are not bugs, but design choices!

1. No it works both ways.....you just don't get the option if you have your typecover connected (or not flipped back).
2. If you hit the keyboard icon on the taskbar with the pen it shows the writing pad, hit it with your finger etc and you get the proper keyboard.

grrrrrrrr

You're getting the handwriting thing because you're touching the pop up ( the little keyboard ) with your pen ( it knows when it's your finger / pen ). Additionally, when in TABLET mode it shouldn't be making you click the button anyways. If it's AUTO poping up with the keyboard, their is a little option ( bottom right of the writing pad ) that will let you change the default to the normal pad. That happened to me, and I was quite mad, until i looked at it.

As for screen lock, i'm not sure exactly what you mean by that. But anything is possible with MS

EDIT : for some reason I completley ignored your second half of the post, where you already noted most of that. You can STILL tell it to default to the NON handwriting tab when you use the pen in the bottom right hand side of the pad :p
