I am seeing data being used at odd hours of the night through my cellular data plan instead of it being off my wifi. Obviously at home my phone should be switching over to my wifi but i am still seeing data used off of my cellular data plan.

has anyone run across this issue?

no, your phone will not be on wifi unless it is plugged in at night. when the phone is asleep the cellular radio can still send and recieve data and not have to be plugged in.

is there any way to enable wifi even if phone is asleep?

sure, plug it into a charger.

your battery will drain away in a matter of hours if it were on all the time.
