I thought I might have seen it on Twitter maybe. This app disappearing is just another nail in the coffin

For now it is. Although weirdly that's exactly what happened with Bank of America. They killed their WP app without any comment, causing WP users to get super frustrated. Then a few months later they released a UWP app with mobile support. Nothing would have been easier than to announce that the UWP version was in the works, and leaving the old app in the store until that time. And yet... they didn't.

Maybe Google started a rewards program that gives major companies 100k for every month they don't have an app in the WP store..
