desktop icons moving

Hi there,

Has anyone recently (in the last day or two) had the problem of when you re boot your computer, your desktop icons are all over the place. Yesterday, they were all on the left of the screen (in no particular order etc) when I turned the computer off and on again, they were all over the place (mainly to the RHS of the screen) has anyone experienced this before, or maybe knows how to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is a bit of a pain.

You can try solution 1 and see if it works for you:

All the icons in the desktop, taskbar and start menu are messed up

I know this is for W7 but it should be similar in W8.

Ok, I fixed it, Thanks for the suggestions N_LaRUE, but I was thinking about what I was doing when it 'went funny' I was playing around with the panes, I had two panes open. it was after that I had the problem. my solution was, on the desktop, grab from the top of the screen and shift the panel to the left then swipe the middle bar to the right (if that makes sense) everything seemed ok, I restarted just to check and all is back to normal.
