Have you tried the reset by holding down the down volume and power buttons down for about 10+ seconds?

So, I installed the 8.1 update on my 8xt, and I have a pretty constant problem with the screen not waking up until about 5-10 full seconds after I hit the power button, or not at all. The screen just stays dark.

Anyone having this problem?

Yes, I do as well, plus, constant crashes...getting worse as the day goes on

I consider this a bug, perhaps an oversight.

In the calendar app, there is no setting to change from Fahrenheit to Celsius for the weather. I've looked all over the phone, it's just not there

I found an annoying and quite creepy bug in IE. When I tried first time to search by typing in the address bar, suddenly it become heavy and lagging to the point where it doesn't react at all. The windows key and back button didn't work. But then all of the sudden it spring back to life typing random letter and random searches, you can imagine you see your phone suddenly typing like it was being possessed or remotely controlled while it didn't react to your touches. Thankfully I managed to stop it by pressing the power button to lock/unlock, which make it normal again.

I don't know what's wrong, you guys facing the same problem? Truthfully it creeps me out a bit, I don't know if it will happen again but I sure hope not. I'm using Lumia 920

I've seen several people mention this problem, I think in this very thread. Maybe a search will turn up the specific posts, but I'd try a power/volume down reset to see if that resolves it, to start with.

I did, not helping.

But I dont want to hard reset yet because I have seen some guys saying the problem is still there upon hard reset.

Where i can find my xbox friends? I can use xbox extras but its only for avatar customization, i want to see my friend's last games and send messages. I used to slide the games list and find my friends, but cant find it anymore
Also we could set xbox on and off but cant find that...
Its in another place or just removed?

Everything is working fine for me, only i dont recive any notifications from facebook and whatsapp when my phone is locked and where is my Avatar???

Upon trying to access Advanced Options in Internet Explorers' settings, it crashes out of settings view. Either from within the Applications section of Settings to the start screen or from Settings inside IE back to the current webpage.

Phone: HTC 8x – Win 8.1, UK Three branded, developer unlocked.

Works fine on a 928 on Verizon.

Bagy88, would you mind sharing HOW you performed the update? My son just tried and it totally broke his Lumia 920. He did a factory reset but still doesn't have connectivity.

Upgraded 1020 to wp 8.1; unable to set IP settings manually in WiFi settings.

Tony - Not sure if this will help...but, I had Bing Weather app updating my lockscreen...I just turned that off and while its not as fast as 8.0 was, its definitely usable after giving it a static lockscreen to use.


**Nevermind...it won't wake up again.

HTC 8x

- Selecting Internet Explorer advanced settings automatically kicks you back to previous page (browser pane). When selected from settings -> applications, it crashes back to settings list. Tried multiple resets and reset without backups
- Reading view shows blank screen on all websites tested(bbc.co.uk, arstechnica.com, guardian.co.uk)

Appreciate if a fellow 8x owner can test and confirm...

Honestly, I never expected that to work...Sprint barely got that working in 8.0...no way it was gonna make the transition to 8.1 without work on their side...that's the price of the Preview I'm afraid.
