Those are the events, appointments, or birthdays coming up. You should be able to see what color means what when you go into setting within the calendar.

Random display freezes, touch not recognized, smgdh.

I cant coorect a mistyped word because the huge floaty cursor is gone

Cursor is still present.
Just simply tap once you will see a dot like thing at the end of the sentence that is the cursor.
Now hold it and move it to the mistyped word

cant say it's a bug, but after syncing with FB,
now my wife's contact details showing a different birthdate.
i have saved it in my Live Contacts as May 1st, in her FB records also it's May 1st, but in my people hub, it shows 05-01 in FB details.

I have Nokia Lumia 1520, when using xBox music in collection some do not play. Message is "Sorry, this item is unavailable." The music is in xd card. This problem began after 8.1 update. Some songs play. xBox video plays fine. Any suggestions...

Try going to xbox.com and chatting with support. Ask them to remove your phone as a registered device. After that, go to the store and download a song. Any song will re-register the device. If it's specifically the WRM protected songs that are not playing, this should resolve the issue. Had that problem when performing a hard reset on 8.0

those lines are calender entries. Violet is the color u have chosen for ur calender entries. switch to Week view, then u will be able to read them.

Internet explorer it's crashing and laggind ,at WP 8 was running smooth,and I've tried another browser but he load the page slow as ie.

Buddy if your region is set to US the date format is Month/Day/Year
That's why it would have display that way

Hey guys!

I just downloaded 8.1 onto my Lumia 620.
The entire UX is very smooth and user-friendly.
However, the photos stored on my SD card did not appear in the Photo Hub.
I did a check at Storage Sense, and they listed all my photos under 'Others'.
The videos (including those downloaded from Whatsapp) however, did appear in the hub.

Is there a way to restore the backup from my SD Card?
I'm pretty sure the photos are intact on my SD Card, but there's no way to access them on 8.1.

Anyone has any idea how do I solve this issue?

Have you tried plugging into a PC and locating them that way?

Can't seem to share to twitter from any app besides the foto album. Facebook works after a reinstall. Anyone got it to work properly?

Also having the Twitter issue. Joe Belfiore tweeted that a Twitter app update is coming. Dunno if that'll help since we've never been able to share to the Twitter app, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Can I ask question? Is there any way to change the base of the information given by Cortana? (e.g. my country use celcius , but it now display Fahrenheit), already Celsius in Bing weather, bit not working in Cortana.

I am being bugged because none of the apps have updated to windows phone 8.1. Apps that used to work quite well, seem to work a touch slower like tapatalk, instagram and 6tag for me. I know that this is a preview, but the apps all seem to work a bit slower which is quite frustrating. I know that when the apps will update, the multitasking will be able to work much better, but as of now, it can be quite frustrating. There are also lots of bugs, that I think that some issues will be fixed with updated firmware.

There is a bug that existed in GDR3 where tapping a toast for a text conversation you had open would result in multiple identical windows in the multitasking menu. Now with 8.1, any method of re-opening that conversation other than via multitasking replicates the window. :/ I'd finally gotten accustomed to ignoring toasts when I'm texting but this evening I still ended up with 8 windows of the same damn conversation. MS fail.

Also, storage sense takes too long to collect data. It's basically broken.

Sometimes the transparent tiles show ******* through, I don't even know what app has been pinned.
