I am having screen unlock bug with my Lumia 1520. Sometimes when I press the power key, the screen wont turn on. However if I long pressed the camera shutter key, then it will unlocked and launch the camera.

Can I ask question? Is there any way to change the base of the information given by Cortana? (e.g. my country use celcius , but it now display Fahrenheit), already Celsius in Bing weather, bit not working in Cortana.

I wanted to ask the same question lol.. but umm if you just told cortana "can you tell me in Celsius" she then gives you the info in Celsius : )

So I just updated my 1520 to 8.1.

Here are my problems so far:
1. Power button does not always wake the phone. Have to use double tap and it is sometimes not that reliable.
2. Google mail shows not up to date in settings even though it downloads e-mails. I deleted and added the accounts and still the same problem.
3. Phone feels much slower, lots of lags when scrolling and typing
And...why is comma missing (hidden behind the full stop or in numerical keyboard?)
4. Just noticed that cannot scroll when keyboard is up. Have to quit the keyboard, scroll and then correct.

Disappointed, especially by the fact that my phone feels very unresponsive and slow.

Hey guys!

I just downloaded 8.1 onto my Lumia 620.
The entire UX is very smooth and user-friendly.
However, the photos stored on my SD card did not appear in the Photo Hub.
I did a check at Storage Sense, and they listed all my photos under 'Others'.
The videos (including those downloaded from Whatsapp) however, did appear in the hub.

Is there a way to restore the backup from my SD Card?
I'm pretty sure the photos are intact on my SD Card, but there's no way to access them on 8.1.

Anyone has any idea how do I solve this issue?

this is because ur SD card is not supported. for WP 8.1, SD card is required of class 6 or above. ur mostly might be of class 4.
ur photos are intacts, just connect it to computer and get them copied.
u gonna need to change the SD Card so that u can use it for all things like storage as well as apps installations.

Fortunately I was able to update my L620 successfully with windows phone 8.1
But I'm not seeing the Quiet Hours in settings.
Of course not seeing cortana( I know now its for US only) ..
Please let me know how to get quiet hours,Did I missed something?

quiet hours and inner circles are the features come with Cortana.
i would suggest u to change the region and get Cortana. trust me, its worth.

1. i am not facing any problems with power button. not yet. but, i feel the waking up is a bit slower, few microseconds, which gives a nice feel.
2. my google mail is updating properly. just had to input the passwords in all the accounts again in the first time configuration.
3. phone UI is in fact more fluid and smooth. there is a bit lag in a few apps. but i think that is because these apps are not yet updated completely, which in time will be done.
4. Comma is not missing. u gotta enable it from the settings. i know, it sounds stupid, but i think in American english, comma does not have much value, or may be they want us to use smaller sentences rather than using comma.
5. scrolling while keyboard is up, i have not tested that. i will check it.

change ur regional settings and be sure u have downloaded the required language.
so that cortana can use it. restart ur phone, she will accept ur regional settings.

Hi, Yesterday i purchased Lumia 1520, If i updated to 8.1, my Warranty period lost or not?
I was confused, help me please.

where do u live?
in India, ur warranty will be technically void, but the Nokia Care does not understand the difference. they give u support anyway.
technically, ur warranty shall be void till Nokia does not release the official update. after that, u r using a normal phone.

Regarding Point 4, removing the comma is a good idea by MSFT. I somehow always ended up tapping the comma instead of the space bar in WP8. Now that problem seems to have been solved. Very few mistypes from me now.

I cannot see any tab for "Mobile Data Connection" neither in Notifications area nor am able to add it to list.is there any other possibility.
I think it is much needed rather than "Projector"

THIS IS WRONG !!! Class 6 was only needed for app installations, and some people are reporting that is not necessary too. There is some other reason for his images not popping up.

Buddy if your region is set to US the date format is Month/Day/Year
That's why it would have display that way

After a reboot, my ringtone is set to the default one. Did anybody else noticed the problem, that the ringtone isn't saved? I did a hardreset, and after that I noticed, that my ringtone was the the default one by Samsung.

DAMN! I used to scroll with the keyboard up so often ! It's so useful while chatting. I'm really wondering whether MS actually has a policy of "one step forward, two back". With all the minor problems (like no rubber pad effect while reaching the end of the home screen) to all the big blunders (photos hub, music hub, with the removal of its amazing live tile :-/). really crazy !

I have noticed a serious bug :
The multitasking windows are duplicating. Even the start screen window is duplicated.

There are more lot bugs to be fixed. The color temperature and all will be fixed by the Nokia cyan firmware.

funny thing noticed now.
i changed the region before update to get Cortana. i got it. now when i changed region back to mine, Cortana app is missing. but she is doing fine if i long press the search key and responds properly..
i never pinned the tile also. gonna change back to US and see whether she comes back or not.

Lumia 8.1 Update Bugs & personal experience

Hi all, I couldn't find any WP8.1 Bugs thread, That's why I'm going to share my experience so far after the update.

1. Dialer app doesn't work for some reason (I can still call people through my PEOPLE app)
2. Storage sense wouldn't open (I was counting on that , since I want to use my SD card for newly installed apps)
3. Start background button would not open a picture when I press browse

Anyone else having the same issues on L520 Black update ?

no buddy its not true.
i have class 4 sd card and i have installed apps on my SD Card.
Even i had install Asphalt 8 and its working perfectly..

I don't know why these much problems with all.. Mine is simply perfect.. None of the above problems,. none except that my "desktop version" in IE11 is not working. Its loading mobile version only.. And that too is not reported by anyone else here. That means a hard reset will correct it... Will do it shortly..

Exactly I have the same problem.but I would not hardreset it will invite more problems.be happy with what u have.
