Half hour later, we're still golden. I wonder if anyone else can replicate this issue. Is it just an HTC 8xt issue, an HTC issue, across all platforms, or just my bad luck?

HTC 8XT here as well. Same exact problem as you, sir. Same fix too. Thanks for figuring that one out.

On my 920 noticed a battery drain took it of charge at 7am now 215pm battery almost gone not using the phone any different

well , now after 2days seems to me the battery drain is slowing down , other thing is now I am getting charge rates at an avg of 55% currently 57%, wow!! used to have 28-40%

On my 920, Virtually none of my apps work. A few things in settings don't even work. I click on 99% of my icons, and they load the app for about half a second then dump me at the homepage.

Apps that do work, meaning I can get into them; Settings (though I can only access about half of them), Marketplace (Even though its down, I can still access it), Alarms, Calculator, Internet Explorer.

Apps that don't work, (Cant even open them), Phone, Whatsapp, facebook, spotify, baconit (reddit app), any email account, IMDB, Flixster, Weather Channel, Any game.

I've done both soft and hard resets, to no avail.

Gapless playback? In 8.1 Microsoft went one step further and introduced gappy playback... A glitch after every song to break the flow entirely...

8.0 has never had gapless playback, so I'm not sure how 8.1 took it a step further.

All working ok on my Lumia 1520 except the really annoying power/lock key quite often not responding. Often it won't wake the phone or sometimes lock the screen and I have to press the camera key to get it to respond

Anyone else notice that sometimes the call screen doesn't show up and instead shows only a notification at the top when you want to end a call? So annoying ><

hello guys....i saw two problems on my lumia 720 after updating it to wp8.1.......first is that previously when i used to press the home button..there was a smooth flowing of tiles back to the screen from the left....but now when i do so....the tiles drag a little bit instead of flowing with fluidity from the left.....and the second one is .....my phone has become slow, the batery drains quikly and the app icons in the applist appear after 3-5 seconds........ANYONE ELSE FACING SUCH PROBLEMS....PLS TELL....I AM THINKING TO JUST HARD RESET OR REINSTALL THE OS....SO ARE THESE COMMON PROBLEMS OR HAPPENING JUST TO MA PHONE??????

My BT handsfree calls are still working, but with Music, things have gone worse. Now I have to open Xbox music by myself or thru Cortana first. After that, everything flows like before. H. Civic imidi here. Hope they fix this trouble asap, because it's useful.

Another problem I have noticed is that my lock screen sound disappeared when I press power button to force lock. And my ring toggle button disappeared too! But phone is working very well besides these three issues.

Loving the update. Can't go back. Everything is integrated so nicely and Cortana rox.

Same here, also have 1

+1, also experienced this on my L920 and it caused me to miss an event. I guess joke's on me for relying on stuff like that. Also the glance screen doesn't seem to show detail icons (e.g. mail notifications).

Also HATE what they did by regressing on Facebook/social integration. Can't stand not being able to post to multiple social networks at same time.

WP 8.1 is not as fast as WP8, phone Hangs frequently, uc browser crashes when loading pages with lot of images which was not that much of a problem before.
Problem with music player- when i select a song from the song list, the entire collection is supposed to play but here that is not the case, only a part of the song list appears, i think it is the list of songs after my initial selection of songs

Im not happy with this because i want the ability to shuffle the entire list of songs and listen,
the next problem is if i go to the next song using the shortcut that is volume controller, then go to the music hub the album art changes only after a small delay.

the next problem is if the song is paused using the shortcut, and u enter the music hub, it shows as if the song is still playing i.e the button is a pause button instead of a play button.


After completing one song and it goes to the next song, it sounds like a old record player that give a sound when it goes to the next song, the transition is not smooth... Hope these problems will be fixed and is any one else facing theses problems???

Music isn't finished, it's getting an update evetually.

Also, when in the Music home page, swipe to the collection section and at the bottom there's a Shuffle all button. Or alternatively you can tell Cortana to play all music(since Xbox music is a tad slow, and she'll play music without having to open the app).

I haven't run into any OS related bugs, but my wife complains of horrible slowness for which I may recommend her a soft boot.

Alarm - Cortana sets up an alarm, it doesn't show in her Reminder notebook, but instead, shows up only in the separate Alarms app, which, with Cortana, we no longer need anymore, as she has her own reminder section...the same could be said with some of the notification options in Ease of Access, which could really be migrated over to Cortana's speech settings.

Cortana Tones - An option to select a Cortana notification tone/ ringtones would be a no brainer...I think people are really anxious for this e.g. "Good morning Bill, time to wake up!" instead of a generic chime/ tone.

Caller ID - Alerts from Cortana that effectively tagging people from your inner circle would be nice e.g. "Your daughter is trying to reach you..." Like a certain GoogleNow user in my office gets notifications for. It doesn't keep repeating it, it just says "Your wife is trying to reach you..." and then the default chime continues after the voice alert...

News Feed - Ability to control your news sources.

A lockscreen version of Cortana...it would just be neat (for hand-free/ traffic or music related requests)...have her visibly there would just add a level of personal presence, plus it would look sweet from a cell phone dock in your car, amongst friends/ family.

More refined voice...I think many admit that she sounds not like Jen Taylor, but the old Windows voice assistant, renamed to Cortana. Definitely not as natural sounding as GoogleNow...but we get it, it's very beta at this point.

I think that's cause Jen hasn't recorded all the lines yet, and so to fill in the gaps it uses the old tell me voice.

buddy temporary solution of it(as i don't know if its your hardware problem or software) install system tiles and pin lock phone to your start screen to lock your phone.
and enable double tap to wake to unlock your phone.

The notification center is not the best yet. Even after opening an app such as WhatsApp and checking the message, the notification still remains when I pull down the action center.

Hey update glance app. It stills shows notification it will ask you to restart once you updated glance app.:thumbup:

The notification center is not the best yet. Even after opening an app such as WhatsApp and checking the message, the notification still remains when I pull down the action center.

If you open the app via App Tile/App List, all notification from that app will disappeared.
If you open from the Notification Center, it will only clear one of the notification (toast).

That's because app developer didn't update their app to control the notification
