Not sure if this is a bug or by design. I like listening to a particular web based radio station on any of the browsers I use (UC Browser or IE). Once I hit the Windows button, the radio stops playing. I have IE checked to run in the background (and turned battery saver off). If I can recall correctly, on WP8, I could go to this radio station, and do other tasks while the radio was playing in the background.

This is on an AT&T Lumia 820.

Re: [Official] Windows Phone 8.1 Bugs and Defects Thread

When QUICKLY trying to scroll after pressing the Start button, there is no response to touch/scroll, neither vertical nor horizontal. You need to wait a bit more for it to actually respond.

The problem? When doing this FAST it causes a bad experience since you are forced to release finger up and down again. The same happens if you want to QUICKLY tap any tile.

Rogers Unlocked Lumia 920
Windows Phone 8.1 (8.10.12359.845)
Lumia Black

After a fresh install Cortana did not work properly. Performed a hard reset, Cortana now works. The following list if bugs found AFTER the hard reset:

ISSUES FOUND:

STORE: Opening a link from the windowsphone.com webpage in IE11 should open the app in the store app for download. Instead it launches XBOX Music and tries to stream a song.

STORE: The banner at the top of the page is spelled "Store", with a capital S. Inconsistent behavior. All other apps use all lower case. For example, "xbox video", "xbox music", "threads" (messaging), etc.

IE11: Desktop/Mobile mode does not change immediately. Only after reboot.

XBOX MUSIC: When playing a song. Lock the phone (song will continue). Wake up phone, song information will be in the top banner with the previous track, play/pause, next track buttons. Tapping on the song name from the lock screen SHOULD bring up the song in XBOX Music, instead it goes to a black screen.

XBOX MUSIC: When playing a song. The live tile doesn't update with the song information / artist wallpaper. However, the XBOX VIDEO tile will update with the last position of the video.

XBOX VIDEO: Sometimes playing a movie (video saved on phone) when a song is currently playing results in just a loading screen, but no video. This will continue until after rebooting the phone.

PHOTOS: You use to be able to zoom OUT of a photo and the album of photos would become a long banner that could be scrolled through without continually swiping. This feature no longer works.

PHOTOS: No longer defaults to ALBUMS view. OneDrive tile doesn't show any OneDrive images on the tile either. (Facebook DOES)

PHOTOS: There's an option to 'Set as Lock Screen' for any photo. But not 'Background Wallpaper'? Not a bug, just an inconsistency.

MESSAGING: Voice dictating a text message brings up the OLD "TellMe" interface instead of Cortana.

MESSAGING: When switching between landscape and portrait mode the TIME (and other indicators at the top of the screen) will rotate 90 degrees. Depending on the time, it will "jump" to a new position instead of rotating on the spot.

PHONE CALLS: Speakerphone volume is very quiet.

CAMERA: Flash has inconsistent behavior. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Also like everyone else I find the phone is heating up, and battery drain is becoming a bit of a problem.

Re: 8.1 Update - thoughts/experience

This doesn't seem to be working on my 810. I got the Preview for Developers app on my phone via the QR code in the article by Sam on the main page. Went into it, clicked Next, then "Accept" for the terms and all that. Then it says "Connecting to server" but just goes to a blank white page. After a few minutes, I went to Settings to check for new phone updates, but I got an error message saying "Unable to check for updates at this time" with some code. What am I doing wrong? :unhappy:

Are you still having issues? If so, use my step by step guide, MSFT has changed a few things on their webpages but it works just fine. I signed up another account. However, MSFT has frozen 8.1 via Developer Preview and so you might now be getting the update. Might have to wait a bit:)

Nah, it finally worked the third time (as goes the cliche "Third time's the charm"). It seemed to be the same kind of situation as when I updated my 925 to Black. I had to run either two or three updates before it finally got to that one.

Oh, wow... They pulled the 8.1 update? Damn, that means my friend won't get to update her 521 to it. I gave her info about it this morning and she was going to update her 521 to check it out before getting it on her 925. Oh well.

Re: 8.1 Update - thoughts/experience

I am going to try and update one more 810 tonight and will let you know if that goes forward or not. If not, the theory of MSFT freezing the update might just be true:-(

My alarms work sporadically on both an updated version and a hard reset phone.
Live tiles will also update only sporadically.

I've just turned off both battery saver and quite hours to see if that is the issue, I've also done the fixes, nothing.

Might not be a bug, but when connecting the phone to charge, the sound is different when it indicates when it's charging. (it's different compared to WP 8.0)

I've noticed the SSID set in Internet Sharing is always broadcasting regardless of Internet Sharing On/Off setting.

Never mind. Found out this is just a easy sharing option. Noticed the SSID on my Windows 8.1 Surface Pro. Logged into the same account as my phone. Clicking on the SSID turns on Internet Sharing on the device and connects without password. It is not visible to other devices though.

Thanks for your update. I'd noticed this feature, too, and was wondering if it could be causing a lot of the battery drain issues I (we all) have been having. I'm logged into my MS account on my work machine (Surface Pro) all day, near my phone, of course. Is there a way to turn this off completely? I'm not subscribed to a plan that allows tethering, so it's a complete waste of battery for my phone...

It's not theory it was posted on answers.mircrosoft.com

Hello Everyone,
Here is the Friday update on how things are moving forward. Without further delay, here is the news for today:
1.A little clarification on the update notification. The notification has stopped for all devices that have not yet taken the first update, however those that have taken the first update and are waiting for the second update to the current 8.1 build will continue to occur. At this point, I would recommend ignoring the update notification and wait for further updates from us.
2.The update itself is not going to be available today, or likely early next week. We will continue to work on getting you this update but it will not be as fast as you would like. I know a lot of you would like a better timeline on when it will be available, and at this time I cannot commit to a date. I will however, commit to updating you next Thursday April 24th, 2014 with any additional news. If I have any news or details before then, I will of course update you at that time.

We appreciate you being eager to participate in the Windows Phone Developer Preview Program, and look

forward to getting it to you as soon as possible.

[Update: This is for all devices experiencing the 80188309, not just the Huawei devices.]

Thank you,
Eli A.

I have annoying charging problem, and i don't know what to do. I leave phone on charger every night because i need it tomorrow and it charged only 20 percent from 0 percents. Wonder if hard reset will fix it, but i need Nokia Creative Studio, and i couldn't get it because proxy trick doesn't work anymore. Samsung Ativ S.
