Re: Should I try the Wp8.1 again, after it breaks my microphone which is Shxxxx

Odd problem there.
Very frustrating for sure.
I have the 925 and haven't experienced this.

If your happy at WP 8 maybe it's best to wait for a bit.

Finally installed yesterday on my Ativ S. Only bug, the camera one, which happens when selecting photo mode after video mode. Battery life even better than before, everything better and faster, finally I can clean temporary files! WP 8.1 is just so good that I encourage all with Ativ S with GDR3 to update. Note: I uninstalled all apps before updating and everything went quick, smooth and bug free, with no lagginess. Thank you Microsoft for this!

• FileOpenPicker method defaults to photos chooser if user chose Photos upon first time launching the FilePicker through an object such as a browse option in a webpage.
• Photos Hub will not gather all albums on the SD Card and "All" category is incomplete as well.

Re: [Official] Windows Phone 8.1 Bugs and Defects Thread

I dont know if this is a bug but after I installed the first update to prepare for the final 2nd update...My other storage grew..so I deleted half my apps to finish downloading the 2nd update which is the 8.1 except the same thing happened I updated what I thought was the 2nd update but ended up being the 1st update AGAIN...so I did that AGAIN..and Finally got the 2nd update except it stopped at 96% and started over again because I didnt have enough space...SO I did it OVER AGAIN and finally finished the 2nd update Now its just stuck in the spinning gears after it rebooted is that normal?

Trust me, it'll be there for a while. Just make sure it's plugged in and leave it to update.

My "Me" tile for some reason reverts back to an old picture after a while.
I choose my Facebook profile for my "Me" image, after a while, the image switches back to a low resolution version of an old profile picture.
Once I tap the tile to get into it, the picture eventually updates back to the correct image.
I do have the 8.1 version of Facebook, and it is connected.

Anyone dealing with this? It's not really a bother functionally obviously, just strange.

Another picture "issue" - the thumbnails for my OneDrive pictures folders in the photo app also show old pictures that have long been deleted.

Have discovered a bug in which if you plug in headphones, the volumes are combined into one, and notifications aren't a separate volume anymore.

AFAIK that's not a bug as through a headset you wouldn't really want one volume louder than the other.

Podcasts app fails to complete downloads and keeps starting downloads from the beginning again and again. I have streamed about 500MB worth of podcasts and downloaded about 300MB. But Data Sense shows 3.65GB of data spent on Podcasts app. So I'm guessing around 2.5GB has been wasted on failed downloads, which is absurd.
It needs a fix.
While writing this comment my 520 restarted for no reason. There was no background task to hog the memory. So there you go, I found a bug while writing about a bug.

Here's one to add. My left headphone wasn't working, any of them. Soft reset fixed the issue.

Well I've had this problem often. It happens when I'm listening to music or doing anything using headphones, and a call or any other notification comes in and uses the headphones and speakers for a sec. When the notification sound stops and music starts playing again, I can only hear it on one side (don't remember which, but i guess it's always the same side.)
Only fix I've found for this is restarting the phone. See if you can recreate the bug by making someone call/text you at setting an alarm while you're listening music.

When I'm playing a video on mute and scrubbing through it, a loud"Tap tap" noise comes from the speakers every time I scrub, even though both phone and app sounds are muted.

WP8 video player's feature of tapping previous or next buttons to jump a few seconds back or forward was useful for finely seeking time in longer videos. On 8.1 you just can't jump back 10 seconds to hear the last dialogue. You jump back 5 minutes and have to watch the whole goddamn scene again.

Re: [Official] Windows Phone 8.1 Bugs and Defects Thread

Hello, just wanted to report something I've noticed on Skype since the 8.1 dev preview. When in video chat, although the caller or the person I called see's me normal, I see my image in the front facing camera inverted when in landscape mode. I only see it normal when in portrait. The lucky part is my image is seen normal by the caller but not to me. Is anyone having this issue with Skype? I reinstalled but same thing happens.
