I've updated to WP 8.1 and am in general loving it. But there is one step back... In Windows Phone 8 (GDR 2/Amber & 3/Black), you can set the screen auto lockout time to "Never" (i.e., I will turn my phone off when I want it to lock, thank you...). In WP 8.1, the highest timeout offered is 5 min. Is this something that Nokia might change when they do their tweaks, or is this the ghost of Sinofsky coming back to tell us how we can use our phones? This is particularly annoying when using Slacker while on a charger because Slacker isn't configured to override the screen lock. So the screen ends up locking and I have to go through unlock/entering password/etc. to do something like heart a song. Good luck getting Slacker to fix, since they haven't updated their app in over a year.

Maybe Nokia cyan firmware update will tweak this up. Remember this still a dev preview build , not the final build.

Which phone do you have? I seem to have all the proper options on my lockscreens timeout selection menu:

This seems to be phone dependent.

On L920 I see all the usual options including never and 30 min.

That's interesting. I have a 1020 now. I had a 920 until just before 8.1 came out. It broke and Asurion replaced it with a 1020. It never occurred to me that the screen lock timeout options would be different from phone to phone, although I know I shouldn't be surprised. Since I got the phone and did the update pretty much at the same time, I didn't see that the 1020 indeed had a max timeout of 5 min all along. Real bummer.
