I just installed them and my Surface (32gb RT) is fine. I'm typing this reply on it, as a matter of fact.

I installed them all, upon reboot I got the and it could not do an automatic repair

I've been running 8.1 RTM on my RT for a few weeks, the first time that I checked for updates today, the only update was a small Defender update. After that, there were some updates for 8.1. (Defender, flash player, and Security update for IE 11). A reboot was required. That was all.


Sounds like those 29 updates were probably the last wave for 8.0 RT before the 8.1 update.

nope, battery was fine the entire time. rebooted to do the firmware update, after that nothing but crashes

All I see is 15mb for IE security updates and Defender. Is there something else?

I had about 20 updates, a bunch for Office and a bunch of security stuff on top of the firmware update.

No problems here. 30 updates in total for me including an optional update for RT. All new updates as I had checked in the morning and only had a defender update.
