Still waiting as I Tilt 2wards a new phone.

Great phone. Unfortunately the 212 Redfly driver (supposed to support WM 6.5) didn't like my phone. Somewhere in the middle of installing the driver, my screen blacked out & nothing I tried would wake it up, again. Including a soft reset only got as far as the WM splash screen, then blanked out again.. The very same driver works perfectly on my unlocked GSM Treo Pro (WM 6.1).

As I have an officially released WM6.5 phone (Samsung Intrepid) I read this with great interest. but on the Celio driver page, none of the beta supported phones next to the 212 driver say "6.5". Where did you find out that this driver is supposed to support WM6.5?

A post by cjk (Colin Kelly of Celio) in response to a question on Palm Pre support indicates the firing order is Blackberry, WM 6.5 and then Android. Since the Blackberry is officially promised by mid Q4 that would imply none of the current beta drivers support WM 6.5 yet.

By the way they have to be really close on Blackberry and even WM 6.5 because Laurie (Celio's Director of Engineering) has offered people spots in a pre-beta release test program.

My guess is Blackberry in Nov, WM 6.5 in Dec, and Android in Q1 2010.

Guess I assumed that, since Colin had indicated (in a thread here) that there would be support for "select" WM 6.5 phones when they came out, expected date of 10/6, that support on 10/28 would be a "done deal". Obviously, that didn't happen. It's the least conservative projection I can recall Colin's statement's being.

Sadly the end of support for the C8 means the end of my support for the Redfly platform and Celio. I have now been repeatedly disappointed by lack of focus by Celio on their stated market goals. I do not want, need or care about BB or Iphone or android support. I am sure that a major part of the reasoning to discontinue C8 support is the misdirected focus on non-core devices. If they had said a year ago (or even 3 months ago) that they would no longer be fixing issues on the C8 and that support for 6.5 would be limited to this final "so long and thanks for all the fish" release that won't be continued or supported I would have been much more understanding. In fact I remember when the C8n came out that Celio stated on their website that all 3 models (C8, C8n, and C7) would all run the same software. Now with the BB and android and other BLOAT each model needs a separate release. Whatever happened to the DOCK? Mere words can not begin to express my anger and disappointment. Time to put my Redflies on craigslist.
