do you guys work your surface 2 hard?

So playing AOE. Yay! I know the surface 2 processor gets hot when it does anything that requires a bit more juice. It can't even use fresh paint without getting hot. Lol.

I usually just ignore it because I rarely ever push my surface 2 hard, but I want to play for long periods.

Do you guys let your surface get really hot often? If so, any repercussions?

When I had my Surface RT and Surface 2, I worked them as hard as a rented mule. My RT would periodically get hot. My Surface 2 rarely did.

By hot do you mean to the point of not being use able? Or just plain hot like a laptop when gaming for an hour?

I've never had a laptop that got "plain hot" when gaming for hours. Mildly warm. :grin:

When the Surface RT got hot, it became uncomfortably hot... not to the point of shutting itself down, but I was certainly concerned. Even though I did more (and more taxing) with my Surface 2, it never got as hot as the RT did.

Alright. It seems to reach a certain temperature for me, then stops rising. It has never overheated. The metal just gets hot, but I can still lay my hand on it.

I supposed, if anything does go bad, warranty will come in to play

Dont worry, the Surface 2 does not really get hot. Should always stay below 45 degree celsius or so and only at the position where the SoC is located. Magnesium casing makes thermal design much easier. The SoC itself usually can go up to 90 degree without taking any harm but i doubt it is getting anywhere close to that temperature.
