Do you have a Steam Deck? What do you think?

Running Windows from the SD card has been surprisingly fine, despite all the apparent warnings some people give against it.

I've been running a Raspberry Pi 3B almost nonstop with the official OS from an SD card, and that's been fine, but a Linux distro is much more lightweight than Windows 11, lol.
Still playing the Deck every night before bed. Wish it wouldn't spam my friends with 'Ben is now playing..' messages.

Seems to be the Wi-Fi sporadically dropping for a couple of seconds and reconnecting me to the servers, idk why the Deck's wireless card is so flimsy at times.

I haven't purchased one personally yet. Nothing against Linux, I actually don't mind it at all, but I dislike the idea of buying in to hardware that I will need to constantly tinker with to get decent battery life and access to certain games.

Still waiting on that goldilocks Windows handheld before I buy a device in that form factor

I get that.

Steam Deck does GENERALLY do fine with games that Valve has verified, but it's not a perfect system.
It definitely has a stronger appeal to those willing to tinker, but at worst, you can factory reset it anytime and go back to using stock settings for any game on Steam.

Not to resurrect a dead thread but I recently got an OLED Deck and love it... Has anyone here tried running Windows on it though? Wondering what performance is like for battery life and so on
