I installed Windows 10 preview few days back and dual booted it with Ubuntu 14.10.
When I updated to the latest build of Win 10, Grub was replaced by windows and I can't login to Ubuntu. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Boot into an Ubuntu live CD/USB, open the terminal, and type the following:

sudo grub

root (hd0,0)
(Where the first number is the hard drive containing grub and the second is the partition containing it so the numbers may vary.)

setup (hd0)
(Again, change 0 with the hard drive location of grub.)

exit

Then remove the live CD/USB and reboot. If you need help finding the location of grub, you can try using find /boot/grub/stage1 to determine it. Hopefully this helps you.

Sorry, something weird happened with the formatting.

The commands should be sudo grub, root (hdx, y), setup (hdx), and exit. x being the drive grub is located on and y being the partition it's in.

Just to clarify, "sudo grub" and "root" are separate commands and you only need to call sudo once.

Well there was no data worth saving in Ubuntu. So I did a fresh install and Grub was back. Thanx anyway, might use these commands when the next build comes.

i really done know as Microsoft is open sourcing .NET and many other changes why its not supporting GRUB or linux addition with win10
