No, WP cannot run Droid apps. I don't find the kb anything like the Google kb I used on my HTC. Actually, the kb is my one minor annoyance with this phone. I never used swipe, but I do miss long press shifting and the arrow keys for text editing. I know WP 8.1 introduces some additional functionality so I am ok with it until then.

I find sliding from &123 key to the shift counterpart way WAY faster than long press imo. I do miss swype but WP keyboard imo is way better at auto correct and numberkey/slide is faster than long press
