Double Tap to wake is gone on 950/950XL OS...

As far as I know this feature is implemented on kernel level (software-perspective) so indeed an app could make a difference with right permissions..but you are also right...it must be equipped with the right hardware as well.

The right hardware is simply the touchscreen, it needs to be on all the time to register taps.

Please Tweet @donasarkar if u want dttw
Sure that will work, we are six months in and still missing the basic feature. Countless up votes, vague promises, it's coming, we just did not realize you really wanted it. Simple and direct question, can the hardware actually do it? Unanswered.
All I wanted was faster 1020, XL went back, afraid the screen would fail from being tapped. 1020 W/8.1 cyan and I still have Here maps.

If anyone looked deeply into this, they would note that "Double tap to wake" is Nokia technology, and as Microsoft moves further away, will disappear, ie. Here.

A lot of android phones have double tap to wake now. Non of the insider builds have double tap. Microsoft is taking forever with this and my 950 xl is turning into an expensive brick.

I just picked up an BLU Life One X android phone and it has double tap to wake, something I missed on my Nokia 925.
