double tap to wake up

is there an art to double tapping to wake up a 930. at best it seems to be a hit or miss.
is there certain part on the screen that works betters or a setting I can change.

I've only had mine a couple days, but it seems to work well where ever I double tap it. Just tried bottom, middle, and top.

The only thing I've noticed is that it works best when tapped in the same place. If you move away from the first tap too much then it doesn't play ball.

Another question on same topic, is there any other way of pattern unlock (instead of double tapping) - custom tapping pattern to unlock the device, same as LG G3 and others?

Double taping on my 930 is also hit & miss, but I found a workaround. Instead of double tapping, I triple tap the screen, which for now has worked 100% for me.

normal apps can't fiddle with system stuff like that for security reasons/how WP was designed

well all I can say is I tap three times and it works.
