DOWNGRADE firmware?

I suspect the Lumia BLACK update messed my 1020 up.

I'd like to downgrade to Amber if thats possible.

If i understand correctly, UPGRADING to 8.1 will not fix anything hardware related since its only a SOFTWARE update, not a firmware update.
Reloading Lumia BLACK reloads the SAME firmware so the issue persists.

Loading AMBER would load a different firmware, which might revert the hardware to pre-problem state

I have followed all the tutorials to set up the programs for loading software/firmware, i just cant seem to find a copy of the Amber firmware. Can anyone help me with that? Is that even possible?

(Device is RM-877. ATT USA 1020 in black)

This kind of downgrade sounds rare, if anyone ever did that at all. Why don't you just wait for the new Lumia Cyan firmware update.. should be released around summer I believe. :smile:

There is thread on xda lumia 1020 section to restore Nokia Lumia in family phones using Nokia software. Just need to follow up step by step guide.

Downgrade FW in other nokias is extremely ill Advised and was a pretty sure way to brick the phone usually permanently.

What the situation is with the lumia windows phones i dont know and hopefully it isn't as bad as symbian etc.
