download speeds/issues

I just recently went from a 950XL to a 950 as I switched carriers (t-mobile to AT&T), In trying to bring the new device up to current, i am noticing that the update downloads are moving at a crawl, and updates from the store are most times not downloading at all. I was able to update to the most current firmware via WDRT, but even that was a chore as I kept getting pauses in the progress due to a proxy issue? OS update took easily 4 hours to download.

I have tested the speeds (was able to get a speedtest app to download) and they are 2-3Mpbs as they should be. I am having no issues with computer downloads or downloads on an android device from the play store. I am not the most tech savvy, but I can usually find a solution.With this I am just stumped. I have restarted, reset, hard rebooted all with no luck. I am hoping the experts on here can assist as I really don't want to have to take this phone back and switch to another platform.

are you using wifi or cellular to download the updates?

When I'm using wifi, the download speed for updates is usually between 20-100% of full speed, more often on the higher side

always wifi. Current download has been going on for over a day. I have not been using the phone, in hopes it will stay hooked up and download uninterrupted.
