Downloaded update, now what?

I thought an Update was supposed to appear in the Store after I downloaded and ran and restarted. Nothing is coming up. What am I doing wrong here. Im currently using Windows 8 Pro

Windows 8.1 Preview isn't currently supported on some tablets and PCs - Microsoft Windows

Looks like a few tablets or pcs are not yet compatible.

Unless you have a new 32-bit Atom processor it should work then.

Well, kinda sorta ......no. I forgot about it but I think I'm still using a volume license and yada yada. That mist be the issue. I was trying to hold out getting an official version, hoping for a sale and forgot about it.

Time to pay up, though I think I might wait for 8.1 official as it seems to have some minor issues

I decided to cancel the update when it wouldn't let me continue to my local account without signing in to my Windows account. Huge mistake. Even though it appeared to exit cleanly and said it was restoring my installation, it completely borked my hard drive. It went into a reboot loop. I tried to restore the image I was smart enough to create prior to the update... Oh goody, my hard drive had disappeared and not even the Windows install setup could see it. I had to enter the BIOS and delete my raid partition. At least after that I could reinstall the image from last night. What a pain. An entire night wasted. I'll take a pass for now...
