A lot of studying into app usage shows that apps are many in number (across all systems) but not so much in use as the media would have you think. And seriously if you take games out of the mix, how many programs did people have on their pc's for average folks? Of the millions available it wasn't hundreds for most folks. Having "your" app (important) vs having hundreds of apps gets mixed together in the evaluation process. I suspect just from asking around that most people don't read more than about 10 app descriptions, even if they have hundreds to choose from, before picking an app and keeping it. How many photo editor app descriptions and reviews are you going to read?
Anyway, way back in the day people were going to scan all their photos, store all of their household recipes, scan every letter they got from grandma all into that magic box on the desk. Practicality struck and it rarely got done. But meanwhile the stores all made sales telling you what you "could do".

Couldn't say it better!

Whoops, should have elaborated.

A few weeks ago, I was at a game and since it was in the city, I had to pay for parking via meters. We (I went with my family) thought that the lots were overpriced so we went with the meter. Little did we know that the meter was going to be overpriced too, and the only way to add money to the meter was to use the app, which is only available on iOS and Android, by the way. We bought cash, but it wasn't enough. Luckily, I had my Android phone so I was able to download the app and pay to extend the session.

Yeah this is a one time thing, sure, but things like this do come up. We go to a game every year and this was the first time things changed for the parking situation. :/

And like @Guytronic, I do the same thing. In fact, a day later, I removed said app from my phone. lol.

I run through things like camera apps, themes, icon packs and e-mail clients or messaging.
Try 'em...don't like 'em...dump 'em :)

I think it was called Parkmobile. Ooh looking at the site, they do have a Windows app. I stand corrected.
I'm curious when it was last updated though.

Edit: It is ParkMobile. I just assumed that they didn't have an app here, and recent reviews are mostly good. Props to them.

Yeah, Parkmobile's been around since WP7. It's very scarce to find spots here in Miami that use it, PayByPhone is the most used. Talk about a kick in the groin, it's even available on legacy BB OS7 but not Windows.

Wow, that's weird that it's not available on Windows. How strange. That must be very annoying to deal with.

Not really, the website looks exactly like the iOS or Android app. Log in, save the password and pin to the Start screen. C'mon playa' you know how we roll when we ain't got apps.

Haha I know. Sometimes I get tired of doing workarounds, especially for my eBook reading, which I do everyday.

I think it's easier when you don't have to do it much but doing it all the time is challenging.
