email programme Lumia 620 not deleting from server

i sometimes read my emails (gmail) on my Lumia 620. I'd like to delete them from the phone AND from the server but this doesn't see to be possible? On my previous HTC Android phone this worked fine, not on the Lumia though? Any ideas?

You have to press the synchronize button after deleting the emails

Try a third party app for Gmail.I used a third party app for outlook for the same purpose. And it worked.
