Well I'm going to the store tomorrow and I am going to make sure they know that I know they tried to sell me a defective product and I am going to embarrass them as best I can so hopefully the store is busy.....at least I have something to look forward too.

I don't know about this problem, but with this attitude you will most likely soon suffer from a heart-attack. Not to speak of the people suffering from your behavior. Just calm down a little bit.

If the device is defective just let the darn thing be replaced, if your store doesn't do it go to a more reliable store next time.

your right, I'm calm now. I just did a full reset again and reinstalled all the drivers. The headphone white noise problem has been rectified alas I still get crackling on max volume (which is hardly loud in the first place). Replacement it is.

Hey guys so when I use the surface 2 on a website called tinychat, which is a flash based social camming site, it defaults to using the back camera and tells me the front camera is in use by another program. Because they both use the same drivers I think it mistakes it being in use when really its the back camera but for whatever reason it defaults to the back camera. Im guessing this no way around this?

oh and another thing, is the back camera on the S2 very zoomed in for everyone else too? I know the camera has no zooming functions but it seems very zoomed in if you know what I mean.

Camera zooms in like on every device. Try your phone from same distance it just looks lot more due to big screen eventually set camera in4:3 mode

Eh first time I was disappointed too with ethernet not available in the Surface 2. After a workaround and 8 months of service by the Surface 2, I could definitely say this is the best tablet for a student ever. This device literally prevents procrastination, since there are no games that could be installed here (as I play MMO games such as League of Legends). Not only that, this thing is the first laptop/tablet that powers through the whole day (12 damn hours of productivity). It's also light.
