Facebook chat not working in the messaging Hub Or new App

i don't know why but i can't get the new facebook Messenger app to show notifications and the built in chat just shows "can't connect to chat right now" any tips on how to fix it

Don't know. Don't really use Facebook much anymore. I did download the messenger. Haven't really used it much. Basically, this was a useless comment. Sorry. Hey, BUILD in less than a month.

I deleted the facebook app. Messenger notifications work perfectly for me.

I can't even sign in to the messenger app. And the built in one doesn't connect. This is on a *new* 8X

What I did was:
1.- Log off from the Facebook App. (Uninstall of you want).
2.- Delete Facebook informaci?n from Email-Account settings.
3.- Block everything on the Background tasks
4.- Do a soft reset
5.- Reboot the Phone normally (turning off and turning on).
6.- Reinstall Facebook Messenger App (you might want to do this on the first step)
7.- Log-in and you should be able to use Messenger with notifications working properly.
8.- Then you can turn-on the background taskt (no more than 6) and install the rest.
That's how I got my app to work.

It works for me in both integrated chat, FB app and FB Messenger. I only disabled messaging notifications in the FB app.

turn battery saver on
switch phone to flight mode
take phone off flight mode
turn battery saver off

Unfortunately, that didn't work :/ it isn't the notifications that is the problem, it is actually signing in to the app. It just doesn't let me

i gave up on the built in not worth all the trouble thanks for all the Help though maybe these suggestions can help another user

Works fine for me.... actually its more than fine, too many notifications popping up in FB tiles, People Hub, Message & Chat all within seconds of each other
I'm disabling chat notifications on all except this..
