Ok uber-geeks, this one has me stumped. I've come up dry searching the forums.

I've got a Lumia 920 yellow with WP 8.1 and Facebook v5 (although it reads 8.1.4.4 in "about").

  • If I try to post a photo over WiFi , Facebook times out.
  • I've tried multiple ways: from the Camera Roll and directly from the Facebook app.
  • If I disable WiFi, the photos upload just fine.
  • I've got the defaults on my camera/FB App.
  • I can upload to Instagram/Twitter without issue.
  • Did a hard (factory) reset, but restored my backup.

Here's where it gets really bizarre: Wifey has a Lumia 520 with WP 8.1/FBv5 and she can upload over WiFi all day long.

I'm going to do a hard reset and NOT restore my backup later this evening, but I wanted to see if you more Windows-savvy users have experienced this.

Oh, RTFMs humbly accepted (with links, please ?) . :amaze:

In the interests of keeping track of this. I just factory reset the phone and chose "New Phone" instead of restoring my old config. After waiting about 3-5 minutes, the pic did actually upload via WiFi. I wonder if this is related to that signal strength issue for WiFi that others are reporting ? My strength is full according to the meter right now, but it drops to one dot while I'm sitting here and the modem is a) brand new from AT&T (1 week old) and b) about 12 feet away. I'll test again in the morning at work with the hugenormous wifi connection.

Re: Facebook photos only post on 4G [resolved] - bad DSL modem

This appears to be due to my modem/wifi at home. Here at work the photos upload over wifi just fine. My DSL line is garbage anyway. Xfinity will be here tomorrow.
