Facebookapp unable to send emoticons

Hi,
I am new to WPCentral. I have a Nokia Lumia 920 for a while now, and since a couple of days I am unable to send emoticons with the Microsoft facebook app. If I want to send an emoticon, the app will close itself and I am suddenly at the home screen again. Any ideas?

I hope you are using the Facebook Beta app. Yes, this is a known fact, they appear as text in the app, but as Emoji on the website.

The recent Hastags feature is also not supported. I think an update will have to be rolled out soon by MSoft and we know how slow they can be at times.

Unfortunately it is not the beta app I am using. I already performed a hard reset which did not help.

the beta app just got n update so maybe its fixed, I haven't had a look so I'm assuming it is

I am using the beta app, the emoticons don't work as they do on the website. and neither do hashtags

Well, I guess it is worth to download the beta app to see how that works.
