How does a non windows phone user get messenger messages using family room.

For example my wife has an iPhone but msn messenger was discontinued.

It looks like group chat is not possible, just sharing of calendar, notes, and photo album.

Microsoft rolled its messenger functions over into Skype. If you send a messenger request now the contact shows up in the Skype interface. Having said that though the family room function was only ever intended to work seamlessly between two windows phone. I don't believe you can really set it up between one widows phone and one non-windows phone, at least not as it was intended.

It maybe done with Skype, since that's what it turned into. Try it out.

I found out I can msn message via Skype MAC desktop app but non of my mobile apps (windows phone, iPad/iphone).
