Feature or glitch?

Hello. Just got the 830 on AT&T. Great phone.

Just a few questions. Is it normal that:

1. At night when the phone is plugged in and charging, the screen stays dimly on with the time and date? Is this a default feature or can it be turned off?

2. Sometimes when the phone is placed down (face up), it makes a chirp/ringing sound. What is this?

3. When the phone is plugged in -- even when it's turned off -- it restarts.

Any suggestions?

Isn't point 1. the glance feature.
I'm sure this can be turned off.

1. That is the glance feature.
2. Not sure about that one, it may be some feedback from a mic.
3. That is a feature, the phone automatically turns on when it is being charged.

#1 is one part of Glance feature (Settings>Glance). You can have it turn off at night; or have it change to a darker color like red, green or blue during certain hours. Mine turns dark green from 8pm-6am, and stays on when charging. I use this as nightstand clock (and easy way to find phone if needed).

Not sure about #2. I thought maybe Flip to Silence, but I've never heard that sound.

#3 cannot be changed. AFAIK, all the Lumia devices will turn on when they are plugged in.
