Hey my good friends!

Anyone here using a feature/dumb phone for back up, throw away or secondary use.
Any recommendations from you folks?

I was looking at one to use with a SIM I have that has thousands of prepaid (T-Mobile legacy no data) minutes on it.
This would be for those situations where I wouldn't like to expose an expensive phone to risk.
Looks like tons of options out there, so many it becomes rather confusing.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I have 7yr old Nokia 6303... A small cute but solidly built phone. Even has a steel back battery cover!! Charge it once, and it can last up to six months... Of course I only use it for my morning alarm clock. It stays switched off otherwise.

...!!

Sorry, I haven't used one since 2005.
This but change it to 2010.
I like the idea of the cutesy ones but actually having one, nah. I would rather just get another smartphone. If I want to be super low profile, could just get a low end Windows Phone.

I didn't say Android phone because I think the sluggishness would probably drive me nuts.

Let's see. Dumb phone in today's market and looking for a needle in a hay stack. Yup, sounds about right. LOL

Good luck Mr. Guy. My backup is a Lumia 650. Cheap but not sure it would run on T-Mubbile.

Wait, why wouldn't it be able to? Are you saying that because it's carrier locked or because of bands?

I have a cricket sim unlocked 650 that works on T-Mo just fine, actually I would argue to say that it probably works better than the factory unlocked one because it has band 12.

These things are interesting.
I was into 2m radio for a while these phones kind of remind me of that without all the hassle.

Rocking a cheap but in mint condition Nokia Lumia 1020 for backup phone after the V10 bootloop curse earlier this year. And able to use it as an actual phone via SIM adapter which I didn't know was a thing until about three months ago.

I picked up a cheap Samsung A157 for ATT a couple months ago and it's just a flip phone. Biggest criteria for me is that it be 3G capable in light of ATT's 2G network shutdown that's happening today or so.
