Field Test Mode question

I've heard using ##3282# then going to settings can let me set the max cell data speed. Since the option isnt in the normal settings app, example being my phone can use LTE but of course drains my battery faster than on say 4G. So how do i go about setting the maximum data speed?

Yes i know if i mess anything up id need to special reset $$785# or something like that to "reprovision" the settings

From what i saw in the general settings after dialing ##3282# is select manual instead of automatic and basically uncheck the LTE bands which would make it use 4G or less?
