File Explorer....Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 Laptop Communiction

Is there an app that my Lumia 1520 needs...or a Windows 8.1 laptop program that will make my phone and laptop communicate? I plug my phone into my Sony Vaio, and all it does it charge. How do I copy/paste, or click and drag my songs from my laptop to my phones SD card?

Just wondering if there is a file explorer app or whatnot....like Android has. So I can see all my file, photos, songs, ect on my internal storage and SD card.

Your phone should be visible as external storage in "This PC". Just be sure you are using good cable. I have cheap cable and it works only for charging, only original one from Nokia works well
