Hi there. I have a weird problem, that is, there is a fingerprint slide burned in on my Lumia's screen. I tried to clean it off, but it simply won't go away. The touch surface is rougher than elsewhere, so I do not know what the problem is. I haven't tried it with a wet or moist cloth yet.
I suspect that it must have come like this new from the box, because I really don't know how it is possible for something like this to happen. I also noticed it less than 24 hours after I got. In the mean time I didn't go out with it, the phone just sat on the bookshelves.

I have added a photo for a better illustration. Anyone has any advice, except that I take it to the neares service?

seems like a factory defect...maybe contact the place where you bought it and ask for a replacement?

or do try the wet cloth before, if it doesen't wipe out, again, contact the store where you bought it or take to a nokia service!

try it with water 1st...if it doesen't work, a bit of alcohol...if it doesen't work, Nokia Care it is '-'

This happened to my Lumia 620 as well. In my case, it's in the area right above the power button, and definitely feels rougher than the rest of the screen. At first I thought it was something deposited on the screen and used a few different cleaning compounds to remove it but none worked. It was then that I concluded part of the oleophobic coating which resist finger prints must have rubbed off, because that little patch attracts much more oil from skin than the rest of the glass. I think I will just used a screen protector and not bother with customer service.

I had this with my 620 and raised it with my supplier and they then raised it with Nokia. After a while we got a replacement phone. Think I have same issue with the surface of the glass on my 820 as well.
