From Android to WP - how is local mp3-playback working?

Hi!

I want to know how it works on Windows Phone to play local mp3's and FLAC musicfiles?

I don't use the cloud like Spotify, cuz I have different music-taste that doesn't exist here.

I have only used Android and currently got a Nexus 4, but now thinking of moving to Lumia 830 due to SD-cardslot that I need.

Can I have all my music mp3's on SD-card and play it on the 830? Also, can I make playlist on PC and save it in M3U-format like I do now, and just transfer this playlist-file to the phone and use the playlist made from PC?

This is really a dealbreaker, if I can go from Android to WP, since I must be able to listen to locally-stored mp3's and make playlists.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not so sure about playlists because I don't use them myself, but playing local mp3s works just fine. XBox music has been steadily improving on 8.1 and there are other options in the app store if XBox music doesn't float your boat. I'm looking at the 830 myself as a possible successor to my 822.

You can create playlists via PC and transfer them over. You can create playlists via your windows phone and you can play and save all music playlists to SD card and play them with no problem.

Don't know what m3u format is, but check the WP specs to see if it supports it, or look in the windows store for a compatible app.
