So it's suppose to be -2 tonight and the new Amana furnace I bought last February breaks down tonight. First the Bears lose and now this.

Buy some space heaters pronto!

LOL! I put some dedicated outlets in my house years ago, so I have three 1500w electric heaters blasting away now. It will keep it around 68 till morning. It's just really expensive to heat your house that way.

I have a small place and use two space heaters which are on half of the day. I'm hoping that's cheaper than turning on the heat.

They're the unvented type correct? So you don't need to worry about carbon monoxide? Or are they electric?

As far as I know they're unvented, but if I die from carbon monoxide then I'm haunting you first!

As long as they're the unvented ones you'll be fine, but it might not be a bad idea to check.

Wow! That really sucks, especially since it's not an old furnace. I hope you don't have to wait a long time for repair due to the holidays.
