Games Hub broken in Australia?

Hi,

Does anyone else have the problem in WP8.1 of their Games App / Hub not working?

When I go into the Games App / Hub now, all I get is a list of games installed on my phone. It is not even split into Xbox Games and Other Games. Gone from the Games App / Hub is my Xbox Avatar, Gamer Score, Xbox Friends details, Notifications etc. I cant scroll across to these things. They aren't there :cry:

If I change my region to the United States (from Australia), and restart my phone, my Games App / Hub works normally. Everything is restored. Indeed you can see the Hub is renamed from Games to Xbox Games. :orly:

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I should add that I know of one other person locally with the 8.1 developer preview who has the same problem. Thanks :smile:

I haven't come across this issue myself, what region did you set up the account in?

The only issue I have is with Spotlight being unable to refresh.
 
I set up the account in Australia. As mentioned, the Games App works fine if I change the phone's region to the USA, but stops working as soon as I change the region back to Australia.
PS - I have tried resetting my phone (soft and hard) but it has made no difference. The phone is a Lumia 625.
 
I'm based in Australia and I'm having the same issue.

I've previous seen logged out of xbox live on the same device (920) and it has the same appearance. Its almost like I'm not logged in xbox live anymore....

EDIT: I see you've posted on the MSDN site, I'll vote and post on your thread there as well.
 
Hey, you're right! Actually, I noticed something odd about the games hub. If you check the store listing when you try and rate and review the games app, the picture is a solid green tile. I also noticed the description just says 'test'. I guess Microsoft weren't lying when they said that this was a developer preview.... 😞
 
Also there has been a update given for the Games app overnight/this morning. I installed it now as well as not logging into Xbox Live, no games show up anymore. Just saying "Couldn't open that. Try again."

I am also having the same problem. My games are not listed in the game hub collection. There's a message error. "Couldn't open that. Try again".
 
I think it may have something to do with US English being the only supported language. Just my two cents.

Ok so I have changed the language on my phone from English (Australia) to English (United States), restarted my phone and the games hub app still doesn't work. Note that I kept my region as Australia.

To be clear - this is a separate bug to the bug experienced by many other people here wherein their games aren't listed in the hub. Here in Australia, I have two bugs - no games listed, and no xbox integration (ie no avatar, no notifications, no gamer score etc etc).

Now I know this is two separate bugs because if I also change my region to the United States (in addition to changing the language to US English), and re-start my phone, then the games hub now at least has xbox integration. It still doesn't list my games, but I can at least see notifications, gamer score, friend requests, my avatar etc etc.

Hopefully Microsoft will fix both bugs soon!
 
Great. The new update to the Games App only fixes one bug, not both.

I can once again see a list of games.

But the App still does not have any xbox live integration - so no avatar, no xbox friends, no xbox notifications, no xbox Gamerscore and achievements, no spotlight section etc etc.

I sure do hope that Microsoft realises that this bug still exists for users outside the USA, and doesn't now consider that this App is fixed and move onto some other problem...
 
Well im glad that im not the only one experiencing this issue. Thought I just couldn't find it..
