GDR2 update showing on Nokia Care suite

On AT&T and NCS shows rm-820 not 821

Isn't the size of the update huge(1.23g) for a phone os?

I think they removed the amber from servers....
Yeah, I second that. I was able to download the firmware for my phone and update it. However checked back now, and it's gone, so seems like they pulled it.

Also after the update I noticed some major intermittent networking issues, the phone says it's connected to both WiFi and 3G, has an IP and everything, but no internet. Wonder if it could have anything to do with that.

Is NCS populating GDR2 for yours? I have a AT&T 920, It's only showing the current firmware at 1.04 GBs. Hopefully they update it soon.

Looks like Amber has been removed?

Correct, or it doesn't look like it, it actually has been removed. As mentioned, I was able to download it a couple of hours ago. Now it's not there anymore.
Who knows what happened, could be popping back up in a couple of seconds, maybe a couple of days, or maybe it was a glitch by Nokia and it's coming up in a couple of weeks. As I said, who knows.

nope wrong !! i am using it all day, after a few seconds the clock disappears on the screen, then when you wave your hand over it, it comes back on for a few seconds.. am using it as we speak !!

Just checked NCS. It appears that the firmware have been removed. Atleast for Lumia 920 I cant see them anymore. It is possible that Nokia deliberately made the updated firmware available for a limited period of time so that those of enough eager/brave enough will flash it and serve as beta testers for the software and allow for identification and removal of bugs. I believe this has always been their strategy with almost every update. And that means somebody there follows these threads seriously.

Nokia if you are reading this, I would more than be willing to beta-test the amber update for Lumia 720.

that is exactly what i thought too, it would make sense, as the feedback now will prob be 10 fold !! although if keep clicking on the check online button the new version pops up again !!
