so what is the problem? getting windows ready is normal after some updates. need to be specific.

I often use my Surface 3 tablet for less than 10-15 minutes and never give it time to update properly, or I don't have it plugged in as required. The Surface 3 is no powerhouse, so larger updates can take quite a while. I know I had "getting windows ready" often and continually for the 2004 installation. Patience is the only option and recommendation, besides what I've implied above. My Surface Pro 2 is much faster, but that's still awaiting a 2004 availability alert and its own "getting ready" stage.
