Glance What is the point

I find Glance very useful already. Be it on the desk or during a conference, it allows to check the time without having to unlock the screen or impolitely lol at the watch. On the wireless stand it makes for a perfect clock or alarm-clock. With Gdr3 it will become invaluable, replacing a notification light and informing at a glance about missed calls and notifications. I often check the time with the phone, and it's just easier with Glance. It's not laziness, but convenience. You got electric light in your home and not candles right? I love glance, makes the phone easier and more practical to use. It's always on for my 920 and my GF's 620, no noticeable battery drain.

How exactly do you pull out your phone anyway? The way I pull my phone it almost the way I hold it and the button is right there? I also keep my phone facedown in my pocket so that may be different, I know for most girls at my school(if they had windows phones[I have only seen 3 windows phones at my school in total, but they were all WP 7.8.]) they definitely could not pull the phone from their **** pocket and press the button, but maybe it could be possible.

Your original comment was basically implying that two *optional* features are useless to you, and therefore they were stupid, and the people that used them lazy.

My pocket comment was in reference to that.

Once Notifications push out to Glance, the lock screen will be superseded and needs to have a new setting where it can be toggled off...

I like to take my phone out of my pocket to check the time... Thanks to glance i just need to pull it out, glance at the clock, and then back in, without worrying of pressing buttons or having to unlock it.

I keep turning Glance on and off, but have started using the Peek feature of Glance and prefer it to having to press the power button to wake the phone just to look at the clock at night, we've got an Alarm Clock in bedroom but it's on a drawer unit & partially obscured by the wife's perfume, so I find it a lot easier to just use my phone as a Clock as it's more convenient.

I like the "Peek" feature. I'm desperately trying to figure out how waving the palm of your hand over your phone (or quickly pulling your phone out of your pocket) to see the time is useless; versus grabbing the phone, pressing the power button, then pressing the power button again to turn it off.

And really, not a lot of people wear watches anymore...especially with a smartphone. When the next update rolls around that puts unread counts on the glance screen, pressing the power button will be even more useless.

And besides, what looks cooler when showing off your phone to an Android or iPhone owner: pressing the power button like everyone else? Or waving your hand across the screen Darth Vader style?
