Gmail contacts sync issue

In my gmail, most of the contacts which have the phone numbers saved under type "Main" are not getting synced properly in my lumia 720. The phone numbers are missing from all the contacts which were saved under "Main" type. Interestingly, all the other contacts which have numbers saved under types mobile, home are properly synced. Please let me know what's the issue here. (And please don't advise me to change the type for all the numbers cause there more than 100 and it's really impossible to manually go into each of the affected contacts and change the type manually).

I suspect you already answered your own question. I don't have any phone numbers as "Main". All are work, mobile, or home.

How can I make the numbers saved under 'main' type to get synced in my mobile ?

Couple of my friends have the same problem. I have 920 and it works fine. This has something to do with CalDAV update in Amber update?

Hello,

One easy way to change many phone types at once is this:

1. Export all your contacts from gmail and choose export to csv google format
2. Open file wit text editor notepad or notepad++
3. Find and Replace all entries "Main" to "Mobile". Save file.
4. Now you can import the contacts to your outlook profile.
5. Sync it with your phone
