Gmail on your phone with external account?

I primarily use Gmail as my email client but have it set up to use my personal domain. It works fine on the web, in iOS, and in Android. However, I can't get the WP8 client on my Lumia 920 to send from my custom domain? I read some old threads here on WPCentral with a suggestion to set it up through the browser but that option doesn't seem available anymore.

Anyone successfully sent from a Gmail external account on your Lumia 920?

If you plan to use the same guide, make sure to read the comments on that page since the URL for Gmail sync settings has changed.

I used an iPad to configure the sync and now all email sent from my Gmail account on my Lumia 920 shows as being sent from my "other" address. Hopefully, it will continue working.
