That's correct, a dedicated charge cable has the D+ and D- pins shorted at the micro USB plug and has no data transfer capabilities. This allows it to bypass the 500mA limit normally imposed by a standard USB sync/data transfer cable to deliver a higher charge rate.Don't be too obsessed with amperage output. Most are bull****s. I am using Nokia CR17 and it charges fine, while a third party charger claimed to have 2.1A can't. There were much discussion in this forum that a dedicated USB charge wire, and not those also used for data is a minimum requirement to ensure your device gets charged.
Search on Amazon for "PortaPow micro usb". A range of cable lengths at around $9 (assuming you are in the US).Any link to a site where such specialized came are sold?
Glad your issue is resolvedgot my portapow cable. gotta say, it's excellent! i no longer get the "phone is charging slowly" from chargers greater than 1A.
