Good rigid carrying cases for a SP4?

I had ghosting screen damage on my laptop after carrying it in my backpack. Amazon has some hard shells, but that makes it bulky. Has anyone found a good hard case for just transporting a SP4? (preferably one that can fit in a backpack)

I also suffered a damaged screen on my SP3. (Thank god for the MS Protection insurance.)

I don't know about any hard cases or sleeves, but here is an alternative. Surround the tablet with a durable, puncture-proof cushioned sleeve, and then put that into a hard shell briefcase or backpack. For me, having the hard shell on the carrying case rather than the sleeve itself works out to be a better mobile solution. Just another idea to consider.

At the upper end of the quality scale, Wakefield Designs makes the Surface Pro 4 SleeveCase for about $60. You can get it in either vertical or horizontal orientations.

Oh, thanks! I'll probably go for that carrying case just for protection.

Though I'm surprised nobody makes a clamshell-style ballistic (rigid) "sleeve" with foam on the interior. Almost like the interior hard-shells of Otterbox cases, but purely for travel. I'm not going with MS protection, so I might also opt for a bulky case if that bag doesn't cut it.

How often did you both carry it around until your screens were damaged? I will primarily use my SP4 at home, but will probably carry it around in a backpack for several days out of the month. Thoughts on whether or not I should get a case as well? I wasn't planning on getting any sleeve/case for it.

Mine was fine until I put it in the back of the car with 300 lbs. of lumber. Not one of my brighter decisions.

I carry mine in an Outback Solo, and then put that inside my briefcase for long commutes.

I use this bag which I bought from Walmart for my SP3. The sleeve on the inside is very well padded, and perfectly fits my SP3 with the type cover and pen attached on the side. The pockets in front also fit the charging brick and my arc mouse pretty conveniently. I was looking for a case/bag for my SP3 forever and I was amazed to find this thing at Walmart of all places and it seemed like it was perfectly sculpted for my needs lol
