After MS pushed out the Calendar, Email, and Contacts update today, Google Calendar has been removed and you cannot reload it. Google GMail and Google Contacts remained but Calendar has been removed. I called Dell and they have seen a notice of this. So for the millions of Win8 users and Google product users they can no longer sync with Google calendar. I am just sick about this. I run my business with Win8 and Google products and these two companies fighting is just hurting the consumer. Glad that I still have my Mac equipment along with my MS machines.

Just spoke with Dell again and they said that the issue has been pushed up to level 3 support and they hope that MS will push out a fix within a week.

Well just read on this site that MS is the one that dropped the Calendar sync. What a pitiful decision on their part. Millions depend on this program and to just drop it is a bad mistake on their part. Oh well like I said, I am glad that I still have my Mac machines.

If you can, try to consolidate on either one or the other ecosystem. Particularly if you have a business, you just can't afford the fallout from the friction between the two companies. Google's and MS' war will only get worse going forward, so whatever you do, the sooner the better.

Years ago, when Google still respected standards and MS felt less threatened, mixing and matching services was viable. Today, anyone with such expectations is living in fairy tale land (not referring to you.. you are rightly disillusioned).

If you have a business, you can't afford to be subject to Google's (non)privacy policy and terms of use.

I would say the same, but the OP has been around these forums for a while, so I assume he doesn't need that advice and knows what he does or doesn't care about.

I know, I know but it is just a pain in the back side to have to shift things around and very time consuming.

Does anyone know if this also applies to Google accounts that are set up in the Mail application as traditional Exchange ("Outlook") accounts, rather than being set up as "Google" accounts? I haven't been able to find anyone confirming this one way or the other.

I was not able to do this because my calendar is controlled from the University staff. However, when i went to the settings for the calendar in my Google account, there was a URL (not ICAL or anything, it was saying calendar URL link). I copied it and pasted in the subscribe field of the Hotmail calendar and everything is working just fine!
