Google Music on Surface Go

Does anyone have a suggestion for a viable program for using Google Music on the surface go? I've used Google Music Desktop Player for years, however on surface go it's performance really struggles, it regularly uses 30-50% cpu and Im worried this will crush the already lackluster battery life on the Go.

I really wish Google would stop being dicks and release proper apps for all their services. I really feel like being a paying customer of Google Music they really should offer a proper client for us windows users.

Well yeah, you can use edge, but web browsers as an audio player are not great. Media keys dont work, accidental closing of browsers is never fun.

It used to be in the Windows Store but I guess it has been pulled by Google.

You can also use Chrome and save the page as a "Windowed" progressive web app...works great too and works with media keyboards.

GMDP for some reason kills battery on my GO. CPU usage on it is over 30%, a similar tab on edge is only 1-2% cpu usage. I really dont want to install chrome either, I've heard it also kills the GO's battery life.

Totally get that. I do wish there were Google "apps." I prefer Google Play Music/YouTube Music over the other offerings. And I miss GROOVE!

you can play your library direct from the play music website in a browser, if you install chrome there is also a mini player available.
