Groove music not working properly with Bluetooth

When streaming music via groove, if Bluetooth is connected, an error message will come up if a sing is changed from the blue tooth device. The error message states that "another app is controlling the sound on your device". Meanwhile, no other apps are open. I have to restart my device for groove to then play, but if I use the Bluetooth device to change the song, same issue appears. Does anyone have any fixes?
